This is so funny.

Had a DELL for 1.5 yrs. Going strong and still feels good. Never had any negative issue.

The problem with these comments is its coming from someone uneducated, which is great! If Dell is so bad they should have a counter argument who beats if not excels on all these points, but I see no other company!

From working retail and sales for a while, I've discovered this: to be able to offer as many coupons and discounts as a company does can tell you 1 of 2 things. A-They're overcharing way too much and hope to catch people that don't know about coupons and B-Perhaps they are using really cheap quality parts, hence why they can afford to offer such hefty discounts as it costs them nothing.

Not trying to bad mouth them (but I really don't like Dell's at all), but it's just a fact.

Also, tech support for businesses had to be brought back to America after way too many businesses complained about the lack of quality support. Apparently, not enough home user customers are responding to get this to happen on the consumer side.

What I dont get is if Dell is so bad, then why are they currently kicking the shit out of Alienware Sales and so forth?

Price would be the number one reason I would believe. If everyone could afford a BMW or Mercedes, I'm sure you'd see more of them around, no?

Dell and Alienware cater to different markets. Dell caters to well, everyone. Alienware caters to enthusiests. There is no 'right' or 'wrong', just different tastes, and styles.

A dell for $2000 might be equivilant to a $3000 Alienware, which is equivilant to a $5000 Voodoo. Yet people buy all three. Price isn't always everything.

A more accurate comparison on 'sales' would be to compare the dell machines only to the equivilant sager machines. I have no idea on numbers, but I bet they are close.

1. I love trying to figure out if I am a Home Office or a Small Business. What if I am a large business run from my home? Yikes!!
I don't care about the quality or whatever of Dell, but that is just plain, fun, witty humor

well no and yes. It one of those hard questions. RIght now dell has better ntoebooks period its not personaly taste its actually the truth. No only is the Xps Gen 2 faster than alienware top notebook but its slimmer quieter has great battery life and has a lot faster shipping. Did i menton better serviece. But then dells desktops are very good but not as detailed and as fast as alienwares. But alienware does chage and arm and a leg for there desktops! aD THEY HAVE VERY POOR SUPPORT!

As for notebooks, currently, dell is surperior in price and leads with performance. IMO if you want a desktop BUILD ONE. If you want a low priced performance notebook, go DELL. It's funny how this guy went to the Medium Business selection and chose a performance notebook without the 24/7 home coupons and compared it to his rig. It's also funny that when he compared him he "accidentally" shifted 2 as @ to miss the ddr2 feature (even though its only a 5% performance increase).

But according to number 5 Dell's are over priced and expensive

"5. Paying so much extra for a laptop helps me to feel as if I have contributed to the economy."

am I missing something? Or is this a basic logic flaw missed by Ferrari Users?

Money was no object, just wanted the fastest - and best looking.

The Acer 8104 is a much better machine than the 3400 - and the red looks really tacky

That piece of equipment in your sig is terribly out of date, I would be embarrassed to bring such an impotent machine to a LAN party;

Edit: Seriously, I'm about to give away a computer to my mom, that will kick the crap out of the I-9300in gaming.

LMAO! ive never heard a computer been refered to as impotent!

Really, think about it,
the system I'm considering giving away during summer sometime:

K8T800
A64 3200+
2GB PC3200
GF 5900U
2x 7200rpm SATA
SB Live!
Wireless 802.11b/g
... ...

Dell owners who think a 9300 is a true gaming machine has either ignored recent 12 months of technological advances, or simply refuses to see anything beyond Dell. I have been a Dell owner for a long time, but have never considered any of my Dells top end machines, either in quality or performance.
