Shame on you for even starting this thread !!! I could start up my flame thrower but I won't even start, I have too much anger built up inside from other things in my life, I don't need any more.

The true answers?

You bought a Dell XPS2? Awesome! Its a great machine. I'm sure you'll love it!

You bought an Alienware 7700? Awesome! Its a great machine. I'm sure you'll love it!

I looked at the Dell. Is it a great machine? Yup. I was sorely tempted. But I decided that a Sager 9860 fit my needs, and future growth better.

Regardless.

Kudos to everyone. We're all here to celebrate, and enjoy Laptops. Who cares what brand they are?

You made the right, decision, is all I can say, rather than getting burnt 12 -18 months down the road with a possibly problem filled or dead machine.

LOL! The Dell haters have crawled out from under their rocks today! You kids need to check with the school nurse about some anger management training.

Here's a clue; if you actually run around forums looking for threads to spray spittle on about how much you hate Dell...you've got a problem.

If you paid 1500 dollars for a paint job on a rather ordinary computer...you've got a problem.

If the pictures of those "models" on the Asus site make your nips tingle...you've got a problem.

If you think paying 40% more for a computer with the same specs as a Dell is cool...three things...

You're still spending daddy's money.

You're an idiot.

or...you've got a problem.

If you run around trashing Dell or any other company without actual proof of your allegations other than somewhat suspect anecdotal evidence...well, that's just stupid.

I won't buy Dell simply because of the service. I'm much more inclined to buy from ProP or ISNTC because of the outstanding service they provide. I have had to use Dell on my PC to get things sorted out (dead DVD-ROM, 4 month life on mobo, dead HD... the one year warranty is to weed out the things that WILL die within one year, then hopefully whatever dies afterward won't be too important...) and the effort to get things 'normal' was not worth the 100 dollars less I paid than going with making my own PC... damn parents and their 'deals'....

no one could EVER EVER possibly build a laptop for a TOP END gaming machine. the only time buying a "gaming" laptop might even make a shred of sense is if you get something LIKE the 9300 for $1500ish rather than having a $750 desktop and $750 laptop. if you're going for peak performance, it's certainly not in a laptop.

Dell owners who think a 9300 is a true gaming machine has either ignored recent 12 months of technological advances, or simply refuses to see anything beyond Dell. I have been a Dell owner for a long time, but have never considered any of my Dells top end machines, either in quality or performance.
ps: dude, if you're giving away laptops like that, you and i need to become buddies, eh?

dib.... asus gives away cases straight from the factory w/ most ensemble notebooks.. and alot of resellers throw them in for free

dude, the dell 9300 will kick the living shit out of that computer that u are giving away in games. Sure it has faster harddrives and more ram, but the fx series are crap.

ah get a life all of you. I got my dell because it was the best lappy avaliable that did what I wanted for the price (17" screen, good gaming, good battery life) - frankly theres nothing wrong with my i9200 (beyond the fact it won't run OSX and dosen't look as good as a powerbook).

How is the i9300 not a true gaming machine??? (Laptop wise - obviously it dosen't compare to an SLI system or something)
Come on people of course the 9300 isn't a true agaming system!!! It has a 256 6800go!!!

Other systems that have the 256 MB 6800go are gaming systems like the 9860 and the 7700, but Dell's doesn't count because the 6800go in the Dell is easily ocable to give us better performance

Edit: lol I enjoy getting negative rep points so much because I can state the graphic card that a system has

Lol some loser called me a dell fanboy and he gave me a neg point. Little does he know that I've never owned a Dell in my life.

Thread Starter
There seems to be a lot of people that are disgruntled with Dell since there is a website only dedicated to this:

As the refrain on the message boards goes, instead of don't feed the trolls, don't feed the megalomaniacs, they will just use the money to scam more people.

Or put simply, don't buy a DELL.

First of all, I would be giving this to my mom, because she would really need a computer that is close to modern power.

Second, keep in mind, nark, this system is one that I am planning on GIVING AWAY, because the hardware on it are ancient beyond any decent gaming rig.

Third, funny how I benched my machine against an XPS of my friend at a LAN party a few months ago in FarCry and and UT 2004, it was his computer that got serious drubbing, running behind my more than 20% each time. the 5900Ultra is, while not the lastest generation, but still nothing to sniff at, being the fastest card on the market just 15 months ago, with the exception of the 5950. But as I say again, this is admittedly a system that is way behind times in gaming. A true top end gaming machine would at least need to have X850XT, and more likely SLI 6800GTs to have any semblence of respectability at a LAN party.

I try very hard not to get into these flame fests (though I have to say I found many of the comments pretty damn funny!).

I will say this however (and YES, I realize that there will likely be TONS of replies discounting / justifying / explaining what I am about to post) one of the primary reasons I went with a Sager from PCtorque was the resellerratings for customer satisfaction. Below are the links for both PCtorque AND Dell.com: (In case the links do not work - ratings are out of 10. Lifetime for PCT is 9.93 while Dell is 4.49. Also - Dells customer service is 1.7 out of 10...prett much agrees with the complaints here)
