oh FYI the site doesn't usually update very often when it comes to phase changes, Most of the time you are better off calling AW and ask what phase you are in.

about the phases for the first three days it drove me crazy but now being on phase 9 in only three days either i am very very lucky or something is going to happen

Beats my 7700 factory config, but I also had to buy under a strict budget.

You might want to consider something faster than a 5400 rpm drive. You haven't stated here what you're intending the laptop for, but generally people who buy an Alienware either want a gaming machine or have a tech industry job. So in almost all cases, a faster drive is advisable.

7200 should suffice, But, I don't mind using the 5400 drives...I got the two 160 gig 5400 drives. I am in the tech industry, but there was no need for me to dish out more for faster load times, which I probably wouldn't have noticed...I just needed the freakin space....both drives are 75% full...geeze

Congrats on your new rig!

also since it is going to be shipped soon can any one give me a estimate on how long shipping usually takes i Live in Rhode Island and i was just wondering once it ships what day i should take off and stay home waiting for it.
A day after they ship it your FedEx tracking page will have an estimated delivery date. Although that date is not always correct, I have noticed it to be pretty spot on most of the time.

Thank you and i called the service guys today they told me that the laptop should be shipped out on monday/
post #16 of 60
Yeah, but call them on Monday so you can find out when the real shipping date is.

I'm just kidding, of course. But you never know. My laptop has been on hold for a week while they print up paperwork so anything's possible.

Yeah that is some bad news...however there are rumors that this is because they are performing a hardware revision on the motherboards. Perhaps this is the start of getting the new 7700 boards that will support the nvidia ultra card???
