Making a 915 into a 855

Does anyone know if this is possible, and, if it is, does it save on power?

Do the 915s undervolt any better than the 855s?

I don't think its possible.

Are there any other ways to make it more energy efficient?

Any method noted should be scrutinized by you as highly suspect. The technology simply doesn't undervolt "well".

Be careful.

I figured as much.

I need to decide if I want a Japanese-spec S360 (915 chipset with Gefore Go 6200 128 TurboCache) or the American S360 (855 chipset with the 9700 64mb). The American version would be a lower clock speed (1.7) as opposed to the Japanese one (up to 2.13).

I would go with the jap spec. Theres no point in getting old technology running agp when u caould be running pci-x.

My 2 cents.

I say go for the ameican spec. Despite what the specs say it will go up to 2.0 or 2.1, not 1.7. That is just outdated information.

The American spec will be significantly faster due to it's much more powerful videocard.
