Travelmate 8100 paint durability

I'd like to ask to TM8100 owners about its paintjob quality, because I previously owned an Aspire 1524WLMi and I can say that the paintjob was terrible. After a couple of weeks the paint around the palmrest started to fade.I used my fingernail to see if it was dust and the color came out!!!!Then I tested the paintjob using alcohol and guess what.Within minutes the whole palmrest was black.I disassembled the whole laptop and I can assure you that it was very cheap build. From the photos I see TM8100's paint looks the same with Aspire 1520 series.I hope I'm wrong.

my 8103 I'd just bought in March started to see some wear and tear already. There even a black mark on top right by the Acer silver insignia, when I check it closely it was the paint that fell off from extensive used (I use my laptop at least 6 - 10 hours daily)

I asked ACER if all their laptops suffer from bad paint quality and got no answer.I think that this is unacceptable.TM8100 has terrific specs but this is a serious drawback for me.Thanks for the info quanhi21.

Well............................

I love my 8103, bang for buck, nothing comes close on the market now but.............................

You can feel that the build quality is not up there with HP, Sony & Toshiba but the badassess do set some pretty high standards
