Yeah, typically the 1.6 and 1.7 can work without voltmods I believe but that doesnt seem to be the case for you.

can this be done on the t5450 1.66 in the new 1720s? how hard is it too do? and is it realiable.
I think it has been tried but not successful with the core 2 duos
post #1384 of 1473

Pinmodding? I mean sure you can short anything but it would be pretty hard in this case.

okay i'm buying the pentium M 1.7 chip

2MB

- i hope i can run call of duty 4 with my 6800 overclocked - u know if i can?
I doubt it. The 6800U runs CoD2 at about 50-60 fps at 1280 x 800 in DX9 if I recall correctly. So if you are talking about a regular vanilla 6800 then it might be able to run the game but I wouldnt think the fps would be acceptable. There have to be demos you can try though.

I ran it with PM 750 1.86Ghz + Go 6800 OC 380/700Mhz

Between I got a big question about the pinmod. I saw some other guides and post on the same Inspiron 9300 laptop showing one is connect from C16 to B16 and other one shows C16 to C15...

Which one exactly it?

I've done this a long time ago now, it's one of the best upgrades you can do with under a pennies cost.. Well depending on how big a piece of copper you use.

I have been running my 9300 pin/volt modded 1.8GHz @ 2.39GHz for about 2 years now. Not one problem and 100% stable.

I was very surprised at how easy it was to complete the mod and apply Artic Silver to both the CPU and GPU while in there. I used a single copper strand from some home theater speaker wire I had and it fit perfectly. Definately recommended.

UPDATE!

Finally pin modded my i9300 - WEll lets say its about time!

i see a small speed boost - i did the 1.7 GHZ so my CPU says 2.26 GHZ

Can you guys help me out here - i keep getting MEDIA CENTER RECEIVER SERVICE errors - im certain it has to do with m$'s search for hardware changes - so what can i do besides reinstalling windows to stop the errors?

thanks again - it was an easy mod

OH - i freakin pullled off the battery connector to the motherboard - took a shot at using hotglue until i resoldder it tomorrow.

Thanks - appreciate the help!
