the 1.6 533fsb will run at 400fsb and thus 1.2ghz in the 700m

The 700m will work fine with the 9300's 1.6 but it will be running at 1.2 ghz instead of 1.6.

Time to chalk up another success story. Finally got around to pinmod my 1.6 and it worked like a charm the first time around.. the only problem is that it seems to run a tad hot so far (43 degrees, hardly in use compared to around 30 before). Anyone know why? I applied AS5 but as far as I know it will take a while before it reaches max effect.. hmm, i won't be happy if this temp doesn't drop considerably.

Different core revisions but same die size. They obviously cleaned up some voltage leaks with the 533's but dont let it bother you. 29.4* in my house at the moment and 35* cpu. Let the AS5 cure for a while.

ok after reading almost this whole thread can u guys tell me if this sounds about right ?

the 1.7 best chance of the cpu's to run stable @ highests speed ?

1.6 most likely ro run without trouble ?

i would really liek to mod for the greatest performance increase , otherwise its not really worth it .

thanks to all who help

yes, from what i gather about 90 to 95% of the time 1.7 to 2.26 works, where as about 100% of the time 1.6 to 2.13 works (I have yet to hear a case where it didn't work), and maybe 20% (perhaps much higher) of the time you can get a 1.8 to 2.4 ghz by simultaneously doing Vcore mods. I stuck with the 1.6 to 2.13 and sometimes wish I went witth the 1.7 but its only 133 mhz difference in speed

You're right. I was just a bit anxious yesterday

Flame me for not reading all 15 pages but I have a stock 2.13GHz, is a pin-modded 1.7 running at 2.26 going to really be that much better? Meaning does the 1.7 have a larger cache, etc? Thanks.

No, it's not going to be that much better. But it IS going to be better And no, it doesn't have a larger cache or anything. After the pinmod the 2.13 and the 1.7-turned-2.26 should be pretty similar (experts, stand by to correct me ).. except that the 1.7 is way cheaper than your original 2.13. So if you've got the balls to sell the 2.13 you should make a nice profit... atleast if anyone's buying.

As an example: I bought my 1.6 for $80 + shipping = $90 which effectively means I got a 2.13 for $90 with a 1.86 as spare. It's just too bad I didn't know about pinmodding before I placed my order or I would've gotten the stock 1.6

sPhinn is correct. I wouldn't do the mod for just a performance increase, but with the premium that 2.13's are commanding, I would buy a 1.6 or 1.7 and sell the other one for a profit. You should easily be able to make $200-300.

about 6% difference and performance is not linear... so it may be less than that... i have the 2.13 and i've had the 2.00 and there's really no noticeable difference, 'cept psychological of course... :-)

Hi!

I just made the pinmod and everything seems fine

1,6@2,13hz I have done NOTHING else do I have to, or can I leave it at that?

I am using pc wizard an it says that my cpu tempertaure is 38c no matter what I do. Is that ok? I mean when cpu load is 10% 40% 80% Or 100% and the temperature stayes 38c.

Thansk in advance!

So you guys think if I put a price tag of $250 on my 2.13GHz someone would buy it at that. I don't eBay so I'd have to accept Visa, MC, AMX or the like and I'll just sell it through my merchant account.

I sold my 2.0 for $300 a month ago.

i have the 2.13 in my XPS G2 and it stays in the lower 30's most of the time... i use RMClock and I've FS5'd my CPU (and GPU that's what really needs it lol)...

you didn't mention anything other than the CPU & temp, so if you're not runnin' RMClock i'd def do so... the new ver 1.6 is very solid... the FS5 lowered the CPU temp a few degrees at most... the PM is really so efficient...

38 is certainly nothin' to be concerned about...

enjoy

oh another way of gettin' to 2.13 without really payin' for it is to call 'em up durin' the return period and say you must have accidently checked it cause you really didn't want it... a guy i know said he did that and they refunded him $250 and gave him $75 credit... not sayin' i approve of the tactic or if it will work for anybody else, just tellin' you what he told me...
