ok, ive been waiting for this for about 6 months. not too happy about the size of the 12 cell. waiting for it to be put up on pc torque so i can price it against the z71v.

I hate to be so impatient, but man I really wanna read this review! Especially the battery life, and graphics benchmarks, I assume it will perform similar to the Asus Z71V. I should be buying a laptop this month and this review is gonna be the deciding factor between buying the Acer 8104 or this Sager 3880. So many things to consider...battery life, gaming performance, weight, durability, quality screen, and price....AHH!

3880 weight

On the outside, the new 3880 is exactly the same as the 3790 and 3760.
Where does the weight difference come from?

The 3760 & 3790 both seem to be "6.6Lbs With Battery"
The 3880 states : "7.9Lbs With Battery"

Now, I know the 3880's weight is probably with the 12 cell battery and
the others are with the 6 cell. Still, a difference of 1.3 pounds is not
accounted for only because of the battery.

Another weight-related point. When giving a mobile weight they should include the *POWER ADAPTOR* as well!! One or two pounds in the computer's weight won't make much difference when you're moving wirelessly from one room of the house to another.
However, they will make a difference when you are walking accross an airport or on a college campus or whatever and you have to take the computer, *PLUS* power adaptor and extras inside the bag.

I think manufacturers should give the adaptor's weight as well.

Is the 2.26 GHz available and just not listed?

On that link it says the 3880 has a X700 256MB in it...that's incorrect right?

You'd have to have one to know. All I know Is I can't do without now. Which is much of dilemma for me. WXGA is way too little resolution WSXGA is Ok. WUXGA would be the Perfect. I am only hoping that by the Time The $ Reserve is full a Glossy WUXGA Is available. I'd ask PCTorque in they heard of anything but I feel I have gotten so much intel from them today that I might be overstaying my welcome.

Best Regards

Hmm, the price on this seems VERY comparable to the price on the Asus Z71V. This may be the laptop that I buy . I just gotta wait for the reviews to roll in.
well I cant cancel my order on the z71v as I will have to pay 10% of it. So that sucks but I think I will be happy with the asus. Maybe latter on though I will pick on up.

Thank you PCTorque for another great deal!

Looks like I found my Z71V breaker

Question though, what's the difference between all the different LCD options? And why do the pics make it look all slanted?
The slanting you see in the pics are the result of the 12-cell battery, which makes it stand up a little bit.
