Does i9300 ship Dothan at all?

Hi, just making sure, i9300 only ships with Sonoma CPUs and not Dothan right? Cuz I saw one with a Dothan at Dell Outlet, but that could be an error. Thanks.

Sonoma is the chipset.
Dothan is the CPU.

The sonoma only ships with Dothan CPUs.

Actually the chipset is Alviso
The CPU is Dothan
and the combination of the two is the Sonoma

UM...your flat out wrong.

Sonoma is the platform for the next version (3rd) of the centrino package.

The way to tell if it is sonoma is that it supports DDR2 Memory,P-M Processor up to 533mhz bus, sata hard drives (not available on most laptops yet), new chipset 915 (ithink the 925 too, but not sure), PCI-Express Video and the new Intel Wireless 2915 A/B/G

The 9300 has the old intel wireless 2200 b/g available too.

Dont worry the 9300 is ALL SONOMA!

You are also wrong, it doesnt have to have Intel Wireless 2915 and it doesnt have to have DDR-II memory, there are Sonoma platforms with DDR-I and Intel Wirless 2200

You are wrong...well your actually right, but I never said it has to have the 2915, I said that the 2200 is also available as are many others, but anything other than Intel makes the system "non-Centrino"...

I didn't say it has to say all that, I said that is how you can Identify the sonoma platform...he was a noob and I was trying to help without being too specific-thanks for ruining that

hey there....First of all, are there benefits to having the 2915 instead of the 2200? besides the obvious that it also does a?

Mimiman76: in your sig it says you ordered the 2200 because it was > 2915, but 2200 !> 2915..... 2915 > 2200.......not sure if you caught that
