Anyone know what max battery does and how it works? It says it will step up when it needs to but I can't get it to step up. It acts like battery optimized for me (which keeps it at minimum all the time).

Very 1.8 is out isn't it.

max battery keeps it at minimum all the time. battery optimized doesn't. batt. optimized acts like slightly more conservative dynamic switching.

Hmm the descriptions in the help file aren't very clear. Max battery says its supposed to throttle more based on battery remaining.

I'm trying out battery optimized and it doesn't do anything either.

Actually I was just thinking. Max batt runs at minimum until it needs to run LOWER. Key part is that your minumum might not be the lowest multiplier. Now I get it.

So what there should actually be is a more liberal form of dynamic that throttles up more easily and a more strict version that doesn't so you can use it on battery. This could be accomplished with two custom dynamic settings.

there is a 1.81 version out right now

edit: my bad it is 1.8.2

This sucks compared to RMClock. And yes, I have tried both.

I actually like it because it allows you to have finer control over the stepping.

I'm having a problem. When I run CHC, I can't put the 700m into sleep mode because I get this message:

The device driver for the 'Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System' device is
preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all
applications and try again....

If I reboot, and never run CHC I can sleep it. I get the same message even if I exit the program completely. I even tried it with no stepping at all and just using defaults everything and no HD monitoring. Still can't sleep unless I reboot and never load it. I have the A04 bios and latest drivers.

Any thoughts?

UPDATE:
I emailed the developer and he knew exactly what the problem was. I was running MobileMeter and you can't run the two together because of something to do with Windows. So now I can sleep again!
