cadega + counter strike....crappy sound?

hi.

finally found some time to install cadega on my vlos install and since i couldn't find any of my cds, i just installed steam and loaded up counter strike. the graphics move along ok..the lag is minimal, but the sound sounds like i am lagging @ 1000 ping. it is just very very bad!

any ideas what can cause this? i really don't know how else to describe it but "PINGY".

I seem to recall a ini hack that would fix laging sound. _snd_mixahead was the culprit change it from .1 to .23 or something like that. it will mix the sound before the action. I think. I just looked in my C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\wasmith\half-life 2\hl2\cfg it's in config.cfg good luck. also how did you get cedega installed was it hard or what. I've been thinking about giving it a shot to see what I can do.

i just emerged point2play and used it to install Cadega 4.3.0 and 4.2.0_forSteam. although cadega seems to be just about on every torrent site, i am a member of transgaming so i got my cadega legaly.

No not how did you get it. How was the install? Painless, painfull, etc. So how much configuration did you have to do?
