I finnaly got my lappy...so freakin excited to play. I want everything working perfectly. I Checked the built in camera..and running a little choppy. I thought eh maybe they used a crappy camera...Today ran into a buddy with a cheesy little lap top with the same built in cam..and his was running smooth no choppy crap. Whats wrong with my cam if anything wrong.

If you just got it you should have current drivers. You could have it configured poorly (gamma/lighting settings, whatever else it has) or be using crap software to run it.

Could it be the video card the other guy has an Ati....

I would need my 7700 to really have an idea what's going on in the specific case. I just know from the previous time I had a webcam that tweaking the settings could mean the difference from a crawling speed that seemed more like it was still picture slideshow, to a real time video feed.

I wouldn't worry about the GPU though. If a Geforce 6800 can't run a webcam feed where a Radeon can, I don't want to use computers anymore.

Now that I've had a chance to play around with the 7700, I can understand what you mean about the BisonCam software. But I was correct in that it's mostly a software issue. The BisonCam software has a limited refresh rate for displaying what's on the camera, but it's purely limited to that. If you attempt to record video, you'll notice that the .avi it records is real time despite what you see on the screen at the time.

A popular web cam software is WebcamXP. It allows you to stream the live feed to others online in addition to taking still shots and video (video which it will actually compress with any codecs you have available on your system). In addition to all this functionality, it also has settings for the camera to adjust lighting, color/b&w, etc. By adjusting these I've gotten a real time video display off of it, so even if that's all you're looking for it's definitely something you might consider getting.
