Thread Starter
Hey, has anyone tried hooking a console (XBOX or PS2 in particular) up to their XPS2? If so, how'd it work, was there much lag time?

thanks

you will need a tv tuner that has av slots.

What about somehow using an S-Video-to-VGA converter?

I have this setup in my office on my Desktop. I basically have each gaming console in the offics (XBox, PS2 and GC) all hooked into the Converter and the computer and my digital IO Cable box also hook into the converter. The convertor output hooks into my 22 inch Mitsubishi Diamond Pro monitor. So at the press of a button I can toggle between the monitor receiving a signal from my computer, the Digital Cable box or whichever of the three consoles is turned on.

I am not sure if this is in any way applicable to this Lapop but if it is, that may be your solution.

The VGA is not an "in" slot, it is to connect an external monitor. You need either a built in TV tuner card that has an input (composite, coax, svideo, etc) or get one of the USB TV tuners (although I am not sure how good they are). There are a couple of laptops that have built in TV tuners (Sager, HP, etc) but the XPS2 is not one of them. If you read the review on the Sager 9860 towards the end there are some photos of someone playing XBox on it, and somewhere there was a guy playing Xbox on one screen, WoW in a window on another screen, and browsing this forum in another window, kind of a cool setup.
