Like we said, the sparkle is only noticeable on solid colors if you dwell on it. Games should be completely unnoticeable.

Glad to hear you may be buying one. I recommend ISTNC

Judging by the look of the LCD bezel, it looks like your camera is introducing most of the grainyness into the picture...

Video card and assembly:
Under the hood you will find the standard stuff. No need to go into details the pictures we have on the site speak for them selves. One very notable feature which may be a shock to everyone is the modular video card. That’s right asus just made this puppy upgradeable for gamers (if the cards them selves ever reach the market of course). 4 screws come off. Heatsink dismounts. Video card pops out just like ram. And presto you are holding the pcie 6600 Go with 128mb. The ram is made by Hynix all 128mb of it. The kicker here is that the actual card is assembled by asus in Taiwan (see pictures). Infact asus name is all over this one unlike last years models. The vga/chipset cooler is a nice design. It actually gathers all the heat from the surrounding compartments and passes it out the pack through a metal duct powered by one single fan. The cpu compartment has its own fan not shared by any other heat producers. The air intake for both fans comes from the bottom through a see through mesh grill.

Thank you Djembe_Rob

Hey everyone, I'm a first time poster, long time lurker on this forum, and I just wanted to thank Djembe_Rob for posting those images, I've been trying to find out about this sparkle problem on the Z71V for ages, and I found that it really doesn't bother me at all. Now I just have to decide between it and an IBM T42, or an ABS Mayhem G3 or a W2, or...
