BIG storm at weekend - laptop died!?!

Please help.

There was a nasty storm at the weekend and my SAMSUNG V25 laptop went off in a big flash! There was a bright light and then the screen just died.

I have tried switching it on since then to no avail - the power light flashes every second (whereas it should be constant) and there is no output. I have tried running from both battery and adapter but I fear the worst has happened...a power surge has buggered my laptop.

As it's no longer under warranty, is there anything I can do to fix it? What should I check first and is there any hope it's just the battery/power pack?

Any advice would be welcome, thanks

What brand laptop is it?
Have you tried going to their website and checking the support section for what a power light flashing means.
Its definately a hardware problem.
Usually beeps and led flashes means hardware problem. But your best bet is to check out the support section to get an idea of what could be wrong.

Sounds like you were hit by a power surge. I think your screwed unfortunately.
