Hi, I have the same trouble, i can not play counter-strike on my notebook, well I can in a way. I found for me that I was only able to overclock my video card about 10-20% from stock settings 250/350(i think) to play counter-strike or else it locked up or booted me offline, also I had to only play in opengl, widescreen, 16-bit, and something else(i am at work, speaking from memory). Basically its a combination of serveral things video card, drivers, settings, overheating, and hard drive issues. Mine is bad video card, and I had to low level format my hard drive and reinstall everything. Needless to say nothing is still fixed, thats another story. Basically the only thing you can do is what Time-Pilot said and hopefully you will get a video card replacement. Play around with the video card settings and Half-life settings to get a combination you can play with. May take time but its worth a shot until it can be fixed. Basically do not max your settings for any Half-life product or you will not be able to play it on the 7700 with the 6800 DDR2 video cards. Good luck.
