Big Dilema

Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my IBM T41 to something more suited to my needs. I'm a law student so I run nothing too intensive on it - Office, MP3s, Movies, and a numerous number of system "safeguards" and progs that are always running (e.g. teatimer, firewall, antispy, msn, activesync, java). My 1.4Ghz thinkpad handles the load really well, but, I need way better battery life. Could someone please recommend me a notebok with the best battery life? Size and portability aint the issue. Thanks!

The Sager 3790 gets 5+ hours with the 12 cell battery. If you want more than that, you're going to need something with dual batteries or batteries that swap for an optical drive, etc.

Erm, sager isn't available in my country.. actually, only "big brand" notebooks are.. e.g. dell, hpcompaq, ibm etc.

As much as IBM is durable and a workhorse, it comes with too much crap preloaded. Most off the shelf consumers like me don't really have much use for access IBM. It just puts an unwarranted load on the system, so I was wondering what alternatives were there.. I mean I could go with the X40, but.. yea..

Oh right. I don't know whats available in Singapore. If you were to get it here in Australia you would have such a bigger choice (Acer,Asus,Sager). Is getting one here not at option?

Well.. put it this way, I'm considering 2 notebooks now, Fujitsu P7010D and Sony T140P. I kinda narrowed down to the Sony notebook already. It's $3999AUD in Australia. It's $3200SGD in Singapore. After conversion, $2800AUD. Price difference $1200AUD. That's right. Anyhow if you were to import into Australia, there will be a huge tax anyway on both customs side so it'll come to the same price, hence unless you got there and buy, it really isn't worth it at all. Anyway yea..

I'm certain the last time I checked the T series are capable of accepting a second battery in the optical bay, which when coupled with the 9-cell main battery, gets you 7+ hours.

I remember those cost maybe US$150
