Recording Software?

I am looking for a decent program to record live TV with from my Hauppauge USB2 TV Tuner. Anyone have suggestions? MCE works great for scheduling, the menu is beautiful, but the files are huge. I would like something that can be compressed to a smaller file than, say, 1.3 GB.

When you use the recording option of the Hauppauge TV tuner program itself, and choose the highest compression level (go to "Pref" and set quality under "Movies" to MPEG1 VCD), you will get a quite reasonable file size. (well, assuming that we have the same version of the program).
I just checked, and found that one minute is about 10MB.
