I'm trying to find out how hot the ATI X800 GPU run on the 7700. According to the GetThermal utility my GPU idles at about R:54C/L:56C and under load while playing Doom3 runs around 72C.
Is anyone getting similar numbers? I have not used AS5 yet, and I'm not using a secondary cooling system - kingwin, etc; and I'm not OC'ed. If you've got the ATI X800 please let me know what temps it's running at. Also please indicate if you are using an external cooler or have modded the GPU - Oc'ed, AS5, etc.
I'm trying to get a feel for an average temp. range for the GPU. My CPU runs between 43/44C at idle and runs around 58C while playing Doom3 - easily the most demanding piece of software on my system. I'm pretty happy with these numbers based on what I'm seeing in postings here.
I've also read that some of these temp monitors can be off by as much as 10 degrees +/-. What is your opinion of the accuracy of the GetThermal Utility?
