Yeah, it is. My two-year-old baby brother really liked it . The Chimp, the car, and the Moebius Strip are really good too.

Now they could take one of these boxes and put it somewhere in your subdivision and you to will receive DSL at great speeds.

Maybe the phone company, in some plot to actually turn a profit figured they didn't want to build a CO every 3 miles...
exactly. i was a dsl tech for over a year. don't know why people get so riled up over these things.

That and the DSL is better than cable thing, always seems to get people in a bind.

I say to anyone who thinks one is "better" than the other.

i love my cable. but i can understand if you live in an area with a ton of people on the circuit you wouldn't want it.
dsl just has too many drawbacks for me

At the end of the day go with whichever technology in your area gives you the best speed imho.

and reliability.
dsl being based on the phone lines scares me off

well I think if you have a apg 4x card the clip will jump. You need a agp 8x to view it properly. I tried this clip on a p4 2.4b (400 fsb/4x agp) and it was jumpy, my friends p2 2.8 (800mhz fsb/8x agp) ran it no problems.

So what I wanted to really see was some agp 4x vs. agp 8x comparasions.

Yes, but then that is how people make blatant arguments about Cable and DSL.

They get the DSL because it is faster than the cable in there area and then flame all cable users.

I agree 100% though, go with whatever is fastest and cheapest.

Here, you can get DSL now, but for the same price as cable you get half the bandwidth.

I get 2000/384 from Earthlink Cable thru Brighthouse and it rocks. Only went down once too, because of a T storm.

any chance on getting more upload?

Upload is always seriously capped on DSL. Don't know about Cable. I think it might be a provider policy to minimize piracy.

I wonder if that's true, cause I couldn't play the movie on my desktop which has 4x AGP and a Radeon 9500. Yall have 9600s /w 8x. The 9500 comes out about the same as the 9600 pro if not better.

Still, AGP isn't based on megabytes of bandwidth, even 1x AGP has the bandwidth to play this...right??

well I'm a bit bummed...I just got XP installed on my new 5680 and tried to watch the clip...chop chop! HerkyJerky all the way through. Got the latest ati drivers and everything.

8890's win again he he.

Only joking taziar . I would check your system is running properly - maybe run some benchmark sw on it. The 5680's have the same grunt of the 8890's - sump'tin else must be up bro. On my 8890 it runs as smoooooth as. I use it as my screen saver .

No worries...I got it going like a top...just had to change the power settings from laptop to desktop and it smoked through the video. And the UXGA is sexy as hell, too.

That's really good to know. Thanks for info.
Maybe since they won't have to set up another CO, I might actually get to see DSL a bit sooner.

Since those high-demand 'demos' can be used as screensavers and since LCDs don't burn in like CRTs, I propose the term 'screensaver' to be changed to 'CPU/GPU raper' or 'Hand drier activator'.
