Its is a known issue with WIndvr. It was posted on the first page of this thread in the first post and on page 2 here in depth. http://www.notebookforums.com/894888

You can adjust the volume outside of windvr by using the volume control built into windows xp.

If your not happy with the way it works and want to return it because of that let me know and will work out a plan to refund your money and get the tuner returned.

After using it a couple weeks, I notice it doesn't like it too much when I'm watching TV and surfing the internet or downloading. It doesn't appear to enjoy sharing the bandwidth. My volume works though.

I havent noticed that problem.Check your task manager and look and see how much CPU usage you have with the tuner active. You are using the audigy pcmcia sound right? It sounds like your maxing your bus bandwidth out or CPU usage is maxed.

You shouldnt have any problems with bandwidth... Heck I run USB tuners on 600Mhz systems... & MiniPCI uses less resources...

haven't noticed any problems with bandwidth either

I have 5MB service with TimeWarner so I think the internet connection tends to use a little more than it used to with only 3MB. I download game updates and mods at right about 700KB/sec. Also, I'm not talking about bus bandwidth within the system, I'm talking about network bandwidth, cable sharing the coax with the TV transmission.

All tuners are now sold. The last 2 will be shipped out today. Thanks to everyone who ended up buying one. I hope you enjoy it as much I have.

As I stated earlier from here out it will take 25 preorders before I place another large tuner order. Although I can afford the cost of production run I dont need 200 tuners sitting around the homestead.

Ok how about some of you all that have a tuner give an honest review of it. It may help some folks on the fence to commit so I can get a second run under way.

I know I posted my thoughts on it but would love to hear some other folks thoughts about them. Also include if you have tried other versions of tuner software with it.

So far I've tried and successfully used.

I'll try ChrisTV tonight if I get a chance. I have to pull the 3rd member off my 4runner and resetup the ring and pinion along with rebuild the air locker so it's likely I won't get to it if I want to drive the it to work tomorrow. hehe.

I've been giving my thoughts since I got mine but I'll try to compose everything into one post later.

Your not going to get anything in Blacksburg without an amplified antenna. Most tv signal are broadcasted of Poor Mtn in Roanoke so your a tad far away. If you dont have tv signal you wont get anything but a black or blue screen depending on the software used.

I can't try mine UNTIL I GET MY DAMNED MACHINE BACK FROM AW

Brand new machine, decides it just doesn't want to power up any more. Tried pulling battery, hard drive, RAM, video card, no dice. OTP w/ AW for over two hours, no such luck. Sent it back last week, s/w tech today said they replaced the mobo. REPLACED THE MOBO? Uh, wtf? Thought this was supposed to be fully stress tested BEFORE they sent it to me. Bastages prolly replaced it w/ a refurb anyway

That's a good idea i agree. I was using just a 6-foot video cable plugged onto the RCA jack on the laptop and stretch up the wall and I picked up every local Houston channel and it was clear. I think I'll give your idea a try tomorrow.
