5660 video drivers - anyone use from ATI's site?

Anyone using ATI's drivers for their 5660 mobile radeon 9000's?

I ask this because I am becoming increasingly frustrated with my NWN (Neverwinter Nights) SOU campaign constantly crashing. Whenever I enter the first room (using the ring provided from the outset), I crash on the video cut scene -- EVERY TIME. Also, when I try do play certain modules, they will attempt to load then about 3/4 of the way though, it crashes (says it is using 100% CPU and then dies).

Also in some campaigns with kobolds, they are simply invisible. (I know they are sneaky little buggers, but SHEESH..)

I have been told this is most likely a driver issue. I've tried playing with my original Sager video drivers, as well as the latest drivers from Sager's website. I've also tried the s-seven ones (and actually they work the best -- no more blinking cursor), but still have the same crashes in the same places.

I thought about trying the ones from ATI's site, but wonder about how they will work with the Mobile Radeons. But at this point, I am so frustrated, I'll try most any drivers... anyone try to use them? Or some other alternative ones for the 5660 64MB Radeons?

Thanks!

Try the ones on the ATi website. Lemme know if you have any problems with the installation.

I always use ATi's drivers on my M9, to install them rather than mobility drivers, just do a manual install through device manager, and select the "Radeon 9000 Series" driver. Always works perfectly. Then just run the setup for the ATi control panel.

I can't check the NWN expansion though as I only have the original.

The crashes could be put down to curruption in the game files, try reinstalling the game, but delete all the files first to make sure it doesn't skip overwriting any.

Well .. tried them there Catalyst drivers..

And I couldn't install. Or at least it told me "Hardware components not found" or something such as that. Not being a techy-type person, I just clicked on the executable and tried to install that way. Not sure exactly how to setup/install manually from the device manager.

I also tried the drivers from Dell and Compaq and got "driver not found" both times when I tried to do the executable install. Again, not being the techy sort, I'm obviously not doing something right there.

So anyway, went back to the s-seven ones that run the best on my Mobility 9000. At least I don't get the freakin' blinking cursor with those drivers. Though the issues w/ the game crashing in SOU continue.. sigh.

Maybe will wait until the s-seven ones get modified for the 3.8 Catalyst ones, or try the Omega set later when am able to get a faster download of those ..
