how to connect s270 to Flat panel tv

I just got a 26" lcd TV from costco. I know the 270 has VGA-out but no damn S-Video. My new TV has RGB-in. Will the VGA-out work with the RGB-in? Do I have to buy some type of converter?

Thanks

I don't know if I am allowed to point you to another forum, and, if I am not, my appologies, but, you should ask the guys over at the www.htpcnew.com or http://www.avsforum.com/ forums. They are the wizards at these kinds of things.

Does your new TV have DVI input? If so, you can go DVI to LCD

Yeah it has DVI input. Do they make a vga to dvi cables?

Thanks

They have VGA to DVI-A (analog) cables. You need to check if your TV accepts DVI-D (digital) or DVI-I (digital + analog). If your TV accepts DVI-I, then you can use a VGA-to-DVI adapter or cable.

But the best thing to do in terms of image quality is to get a docking station for your Sony S270 (which has DVI output) and go straight DVI-to-DVI.

damn, only has DVI-D. I don't feel like dropping the money on a Sony docking station either. Oh well, It'll just be a TV for now.

thanks

edit: Wait, maybe I'll look for one of these:

Look into what? A VGA to Component video cable? that would be an excellent idea.
