Sound Recorder Program/Software

Hi team,

I am looking for a 'free' Sound Recorder program/software I can download from somewhere.

I want to record the audio that comes through my sound card (eg the audio from a DVD) that converts it to a 'WAV' file.

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

I don't know a software that could record what's streaming on sound cards, but there are lots of software to save almost any source to any format.
e.g. Audacity (for line-in, microphone), CDeX (for CD audio), DVD rippers, etc.

For example, Creative Labs SB products come with a 'recorder' program that records the audio emitted via the sound card and converts this to wav.
