No idea yet. As you may know, Hitachi (I'm assuming Dell's drives are Hitachi) makes the 100Gb 72K Travelstar in both PATA and SATA flavors. Unfortunately Dell hasn't updated the specs for the XPS2 to reflect the addition of the two larger 7200RPM drives.
You're right, it would definitely make me feel a bit better about paying $300 extra for the drive if I knew it was SATA. SATA, while not a huge advantage over IDE, would still be a pretty kickin' perk to XPS2, and make it an even better desktop replacement.
