NP5650 Ethernet Port Problems

Hi All

My 5650 has an odd problem. The ethernet connection keeps dropping and reconnecting. At first I thought it was the driver but I have a dual boot Linux and Windows XP configuration and the ethernet port has trouble under both OS. Basically when I plug in the the ethernet cable from the network the connection will connect, then drop, then reconnect, then drop over and over.

I eyballed the port and none of the pins are bent or broken.

Any ideas?

Are you connecting to a router or modem...? Maybe the problem lies there? Can you connect another machine to the same network without problems?

Follow Up

Okay took the laptop to a repair place.
The port is hosed most likely crack or something right on the board causing internittent disconnects.

Looks like the only way to fix it is by replacing the motherboard. so I will use an external USB wireless from now on...
