I'm about 99% sure that my next computer will be a 12" PowerBook, but I'm banging my head against the wall trying to figure out exactly how much RAM I need. I'm positive I'll get at least 768MB, but what I'm curious about is whether it's worth the extra money to get it with 1.25GB of RAM.
It's an extra $350, so it's obscenely expensive for an extra 512MB. I know it would be cheaper to just buy more memory elsewhere, but I've heard that Apple laptops are difficult to get into. I know I'll have this laptop for a long time, so I want to get as much as I can out of it. But $350 is almost halfway to a 20" Cinema display, which really made me stop and think.
If I'm not planning on doing anything really intense like video or photo editing, will I notice the extra RAM? I don't want to deal with any sort of sluggishness, I really want it to be as snappy as possible.
