I bought a stick of 1gb Centon and it works well for the 700m

just get something with lifetime warranty and don't worry about what brand it is

This should work fine, correct?

For a 700m~
I ordered with 512 (256x2) so I can just take one 512 out and put this in to get roughly 1536?

Yes, it's fine

a bit confused. YOu stated you bought the lappie with 512MB (256x2) which means that you have a 256MB stick in each of the two slots. If you take out one, you will then have only 256MB in one slot and one slot free to put the 1GB stick. If this is the case, then you will have 1280 MB (1GB is normally 1024 MB). your computer will register 1216 MB because the graphics driver is allocated 64MB.

yes you are right I would have 1216 then would I

hey guys i was wondering, my 700m has 2 256mb sticks, does it REALLY matter to have a 1gb stick on the slot under the keyboard or is it better for it to be under the computer...

i have my 1gb stick under the keyboard and the DELL factory isntalled 256 stick under the keyboard...not sure if it makes a difference performance wise though?
