Inspiron 8600 with LCD screen issues

Trying to run dual monitor

I cant get the screen to produce the same good crisp text as i can with my laptop screen (little dissapointed with it)

And I have the LCD on top of my laptops screen to run dual monitor. But I cant get the option of having the software recognize that the LCD is above (only left or right of my laptop configuration) Can anyone assist ?

What do you have the refresh rate set as? (on the monitor)

I notice when I do dual monitor with my i8600, the monitor text gets very fuzzy at higher refresh rates, so I set it to about 70, and it looks fine.
