Weird

The system crashed today, no warnings, no messages, no errors, just posted, and sat there.

After about 1hr with Sascha from AW-TechSupp UK, we could not get the system to restart so we reinstalled Windows. My secondary D: drive with My Documents folder and my mp3's, StarWars posters, production photographs, film stills etc and my erm....porn was safe, only the C: drive was un-recoverable.

But that's not the weirdest... as soon as I load my camera s/w I'll show you the symbol that appeared on the screen after the machine posted and failed to start.

Just to give you an idea, it looks like a Y with an 0 lying on its side repeated, like YoYo....

Red, Glad you didn't lose any data. Is it actual hardware failure or software. I don't remember are you using a Raid array? Would it boot off a Windows CD or floppy?

Ok, this is what I saw on booting up this morning.

Raid Config was healthy, drives were good, Raid controllers were fine, disabling Raid resulted in drives being discovered but being unable to boot....as would be expected.

System would not get past this screen, no Safe Mode, Auto-recovery, Bios to normal, no OC options set in Bios, set to defaults, system still posted no boot screen, bootmenu would only get to the screen you see above.

But I'm reinstalling apps as we speak....just weird.

True..............but wtf happened? And why no errors? And if that YoYo was an error message, wtf does it mean?

I am so puzzled......

Isn't that second character the symbol for infinity? Maybe it's an error code in Taiwanese or something?
