I ordered the M60 last night and saved approximatley $950 with coupons and discounts that were all stackable . The m60 is only available through Small Business or Medium/Large Business, so I got TAXed, but a small fee for the deal I recieved.

Discounts:
$500 OFF Dell Instant Discount
$200 OFF M60 Coupon from techbargains.com
10% OFF Business coupon I bought off eBay
Free 3-5 Day shipping

Total Cost was just under $2,000.00.

1.40 GHz Pentium® M Processor
15.4" WUXGA
Floppy Drive, Internal/External
Support/Warranty 3Yr Parts + Onsite Labor (Next Business Day)
OS Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional, (Service Pack 1)
Memory 256MB, DDR SDRAM Memory (2 DIMMS)
Dell TrueMobile 1300 WLAN (802.11b/g,54Mbps) miniPCI card
Battery 9-Cell Primary Battery
Boot Hard Drives 40GB ATA-100 IDE (5400 rpm)
Modular Bay Devices Internal 8-24-24-24X SWDVD/CDRW Combo
Modem Internal 56K Modem
NVIDIA® Quadro FX Go700™ 4XAGP graphics w/128MB DDR Video

I am planning on ordering memory from Crucial, once I recieve My M60. I will also upgrade my hard drive to 7200RPM drive when they become less expensive. They are a fairly recent technology for notebooks, so there price is still a premium. Well, higher than I wanted to pay.

Today, I am already in Production.

Does anybody know anything aboutthe performance of the NVIDIA Quadro FX Go700?
How does it compare with the NividiaFX 5650/5600 and/or the Radeon 9600 Pro?

In 3smark03 i scored 3000 with the stock drivers on my m60, and then i ignorantly installed desktop drivers, score went down to 1500, installed the right drivers, but some of the desktop crap is still there 2700...

Loki, which drivers did you reinstall to get those numbers? I would appreciate it if you could post this for all of us M60 owners!!! Thanks

M60 owners

M60 owners:
How long did it ake to go thruogh production?
Are u overall satified with the purchase? NE complaints?
Did anyone recieve dead pixels?
Complaints? yes... the laptop seems a little too "pretty" and consquently not very resistant to minor scratches like the laptops of old. other than that, nothing.

Got mine in less than a week from the day I made the payment! I was in Malaysia at the time though.

Very satisfied, no dead pixels.

I'm wondering the same...I haven't found any definitive answers..

As soon as a nice 3.2 GHz 4M HT is available with one of those cards I'll buy a laptop

just check the 3dmark scores. Those have been posted everywhere
post #12 of 17
A lot of people will say the 3dmark scores are unreliable, so I don't know what else to go on
post #13 of 17
yeah but it gives you some idea...

m60 3dmark 03 score

Hi Loki,
Could you post your 3dmark score details ?
I have an m60 and ran 3dmark03 with default drivers and updated drivers from dell site (16.10.4482,a01) and i score both times around 1850...
Any idea what causes that big difference?
thanks for your help.

Loki
Can you go over the discounts that you received again. Those sound like some pretty terrific discounts and might make the M60 a viable option.
unfortunately, I did not get any discounts from dell sorry, But u can check fatwallet and stuff like that. I bought my m60 in late august before the other dell centrino with the 128 vid card came out. I woudl recommend to save some money and go with those.
