Well, there's your answer to where's the Go 6800 Ultra. Now the questions are, how much will it cost and will it support the upcoming Mobility X800 XT (and when)

At least there'll still be an Ultra upgrade kit for the 9860 users.
What does this mean for 9860 users? No Ultra?
If you read the release, Luke says that details for the 6800 Ultra upgrade kit will be released on the 17th.

Ah. Whew. Thank you.

Heh. Can 9860 owners upgrade to the WUXGA? No? A shame.

Sure you can, however screen upgrades from Sager have always been known to carry a hefty price tag.
Not suprised. Still, The price tag on the new upgrades will likely be pretty heft. I don't think I'll need to upgrade either the screen, or the vid card anytime soon.

If i understand, you must change the motherboard to upgrade to 9880 ??

deuch

OK ,

I sure agree it is good news. But where is the new AMd notebook with nvidia 6800 ???? Everyone says Amd is better than intel but still no good notebooks?

Anyone have any info on the TV Tuner card in it, I also just read in Tomshardware that hitachi finally released the 7200rpm 100gig HD's and they are about 7% faster than previous 7200rpm drives, will we be able to get those installed? Can barely wait the 6 weeks till I get home and can finally order this monster!

Depends, Sager has the option to do the revision to your current motherboard or swap it with a new one.... not sure which they will do in the case of an upgrade.

i am curious to see if the wuxga screen is the same one that dell uses?? is the wuxga the glossy screen?

i am also curious to see if they fixed the chrping fan issue.

oh oh, i am also curois to see which serial number motherboards need to be replaced?
no it says the wsxga is glossy. the wuxga doesn't say that. that means that the wuxga won't be glossy.

i'm curious about this though. is the laptop the same as the 9860 just with an updated mobo and a mpeg2 tv tuner?

cause the other companies already have something similar with a WUXGA offering and Ultra to be released soon. I'm sure they will add the new tv tuner too.

Anyways, if there is a model to replace my EX7, I'm getting it! They extended my 30 days so I will send this back for whatever model gives me the Ultra and mpeg2 tv tuner.

I have had the 17" WUXGA display on my HyperSonic Aviator EX7 for over a month now, and it is an excellent display with great contrast and good brightness. I liked it much better than the 17" WSXGA+ glossy display because I found it to be brighter, and my own personal preference for non-glossy displays at this point in time.
