We are getting a deal on the WUXGA screen during the promotin is why the WSXGA+ costs more. Since the new TV Tuner REQUIRES MCE2005 to function could you guys bring back the old TV Tuner as another option for us not wanting to use MCE2005? AND Will Pc-Torque offer a WUXGA GLOSSY SCREEN? |

Will the WSXGA glossy screen be provided as an option in case Sager went Dell on us and tried to blind us with the sparkly screens? |

I personally have ordered, delivered and used 6 Dell 17" 19x12 screens in the last month. THEY DON'T HAVE SPARKLE!
I'd take these screens any day to the glossy anyway, because I'd prefer to see my work, not my face when I'm using a computer. Truthfully, I'm not that pretty. Glossy screens are nasty for your eyes too. The non-glossy screens only have a slight matting to keep the reflections from occuring. Under the right conditions, and if examined really really closely, you might detect a shifting of the image on a pixel by pixel basis. NO SPARKLE! In everyday use, you won't see it. I have 20/20 vision too, so don't give me any bull about that. If you see sparkle, maybe you should have your eyes checked for glaucoma. THERE IS NO SPARKLE. |

Looking into that. Also as far as the "MCE 2005" TV tuner goes there are drives for win xp pro/home just no software to bundle it with... so while it does work Sager just can't provide software to use it. Thats where MCE comes in. If Sager approves a glossy WUXGA screen we will carry it. |

AND THE FORMER TV TUNER OPTION!

BUT why does everyone want the old Tuner? just because it was lower cost? MCE + Hardware MPEG2 encoding is so much better it's worth the money. in fact look at the price MCE OS is lower then XP PRO, when MCE = PRO. if you do some research MCE = XP PRO with a extra enchanced version of Media Player that is a full screen interface with, TV Viewing, Online TV Program Guide, Recording with the ONLINE TV Program Guide like a TIVO, Pause Live TV. i don't think the old tuner and old tuner included program can do these. Plus you also get DVD viewing in the same interface that is much more user friendly, Picture Slide show with Music, and many other. Close this MCE Interface everything functions exactly like XP PRO. so unless you really really don't want to buy XP PRO because you already have a copie or is willing to pay the extra bucks for XP pro and not MCE i see no reason to skip out on MCE. the external IR box thing is to control your cable box and other setop box devices just don't hook it up if you don't want to use it or ask if they can sell you the tuner without the remote and IR box if you just going to be infront of the laptop most of time. but MCE still would be much better then the old Tuner and Software IMO if you going to spend 2k+ for a DTR laptop why cut back on the few bucks on a OS that is just as good as XP Pro with enchanced function and few on the Tuner. it's only what less then 200 more? |
