Thinking about getting one.

Ok I have been searching for the perfect laptop for months now, and I think I might have found it. I was thinking about getting a 12" PowerBook and using it for these main things.

*AIM
*Web Surfing
*Video Editing
*Audio Editing
*Audio Listening and downloading (can you download ares for mac? If not whats a good program to use?)
*DVD veiwing
*Word Processing
*DVD and CD creating
*Web site and forum management
*And maybe an entertaining round of The Sims2 when Im out of the house.

Would a 12" PowerBook suit me for this? This would be my first time using a Mac, and I had the Idea that if I truely do not like the operating system then I could always return it back to best buy for a full refund, but I higly doubt I wont like OSX so what do you guys think? I am a huge fan of games but isnt that what the Desktop in my livingroom is for? I also need to know if it is hard to connect a PC and Mac on the same network, and also need to know if I can use my verizon DSL internet service on the PowerBook. Thanks in advance.

*Video Editing - imovie HD comes with with all new macs.
*Audio Editing - grageband comes free with all macs.

*Word Processing - os x has a system widew spell checker and now in tiger a system wide dictionary (highlight a word and press command+control+d), text eidt is very basic but has a spell checker. pages, openoffce/neooffice and microsoft word are also good word processing apps.
*DVD and CD creating - disk utility is good for that. or idvd and itunes if your talking about music/dvd video creation.
