Acer 8104 Euro/Dollar keys by arrow keys

Hi, I had my notebook sent to Acer 3 times for repairs, and now that I have it back and have the chance to use it, I notice that my euro and dollar keys do not function. Any idea if I need a specific driver or something? I tried setting up the keyboard to use the US-International layout as mentioned in the user guide, but no dice.

It's simply listed as "Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard" in device manager with default MS drivers.

It seems they need a driver. Since my reinstallation from scratch, they doesn't work anymore. But that doesn`t bothers me, in fact the buttons bothered me alot

Holy crap, I just noticed mine aren't working too. Haha. They did bother me though so I dont know if I should complain or not.

I think they use a separate USB keyboard device for those keys. Under Linux, if i recall correctly, those 2 keys, plus the Wifi and Bluetooth buttons register as keyboard scancodes from a USB keyboard device.

Install their eLaunch software. Tada...done! Or if you want to have some fun and remap them to something actually useful...like oh, WWW Page Back and WWW Page Forward,

That's a little guide I wrote for changing the keys to whatever you wanted them mapped to. Oh, and here's a link for changing the On-Screen Display for volume and mute etc, etc.

Yeah, the lack of functionality in the euro and dollar buttons comes from using an older version of the LaunchManager software. Actually I went out of my way to get my hands on the older version because I hate those damn buttons. I can't even tell you how many "$" I typed when reaching for the "end" button.
