Security suggestions?

Hey all,

First time buyer of Alienware, but long time admirer. This will be my first computer in about 5 years, since I had my first computer at the start of college. For those 5 years, I rarely had any type of security on my computer, Norton, etc. Any suggestions for applications I should look to purchase once I receive my Sentia late next week? I'd like a solid set of security applications running on my computer, so any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

I use Mcafee antivirus w/firewall. It's proved its weight in gold. Much quicker and more reliable than Norton. I also use Webroot's Spysweeper and Window Washer...and run them about once a week, worth the money. My system runs flawlessly. I also turned on the Microsoft firewall in SP2 for added protection. You can also use Ad-Aware and spyware blaster...but with my configuration I've never had to.

My system:
Dell XPS Gen 2
primary HD 120G Sata
video storage HD 250G Sata
P4 3.2
2 Gigs of RAM
An unstoppable workhorse!

Thanks Bluee for your advice. Looks like my system will be here Thursday, so I'm going to look into getting the protection software soon.
