got my 7700 this morning and have been fooling with it and loading software etc..the thing runs fantastic. Just as fast as my Alienware desktop I bought last March. The screen looks great. Although it has a certain washed out look too it on certain screens in windows, I have the NVIDIA 6800... Im just guessing I need to tweak the settings. Any advise on settings for nice rich deep colors? I have the upgraded screen for it too...

I had to knock the brigtness down to 96% to get the black level right. Have fun!!!

how do you turn the brightness down in such precise increments?

Right click the desktop. Properties. (unless you have an nividia display option). Settings. Advanced.

This should bring up the Nividia control panel. Under perfomance and Quality settings go to the color correction section. 96% may not be your magic number. I have a website with a lot of blacks on it and used it as my reference. I slid the bar till all the black levels were the same which happened to be 96%.

Did you get the upgraded screen? Either way this LCD is amazing and you should be able to tweak it to get it there.

i have a sager 9860 and it only comes with the wsxga screen. the colors and all seem fine to me. i was just curious how the precision adjustment was done. i usually just hit the fn key function to change brightness. sometimes the whites are too bright and hurt my eyes when viewing web pages for a long time.
