Hey Bob, I found some more information that may be interesting for you.

First of all, that plug is a standard GPS plug. 4 pin, the barrel is not used for anything, just a barrel. There are 4 pins inside and on the inside of the barrel, there is one small indent/ridge. With this at the lower left corner (SW), the number 1 pin is then to the extreme right (East), with the rest of them counting off through 4 clockwise at the cardinal points (North, East, South). Pin 1 is ground. Pin 2 is Data Transmit, pin 3 is power V+, and pin 4 is Data Receive. I would guess this is what our plug uses though the Data pins are presumably dead.

I also found a company that speciallizes in batteries, including custom arrays using Lithium Gel. Check out http://www.batterybusters.com/

I sent them an email requesting more information, giving them the requirements for a SAGER.

You also might want to look at http://www.marchingant.net/battpack.htm for general info.

Good luck and keep in touch.
