What is Z71V Native resolution?

And what if the game does not have that resolution (only lower), to what should I set it?
the res is 1680x1050, if the game doesnt support it use a lower wide screen res, and if that isnt there go to 1024x768

What is a "a lower wide screen res"

Or what are they?

Also, anyone knows what is the difference in perfomance between 6600 in Z71V and ATI 9800 Pro 128 Mg for Desktops ?

ATi is what I have on my Desktop and 6600 is what I will have in my Z71V as a replacement.

9800 pro gets about 5000k in 3dmark 03, and about 1.8k in 3dmark 05

Z71V Benchmark & Figures:
z71v/m6n 3dMark 2003 (250/500) = 4436 / 2762
z71v/m6n 3dMark 2005 = 1728 / 1168
MobileMeter(Low Load, email/office)= [CPU@ 46C] [HDD@ 37C] [BattLife@ 3.8 hours]
MobileMeter(On AC Low Load)= [CPU@ 56C] [HDD@ 37C]
MobileMeter(On AC Full Load, Fan Full)= [CPU@ 62C] [HDD@ 37C]
Win XP Pro SP2 time to install = 14 minutes
GPU Core Clock = 250
GPU VRAM Clock= 500

Z71V Benchmark & Figures OVERCLOCKED:
z71v 3dMark 2003 (290/573) = 5338
z71v 3dMark 2005 (290/573) = 2140
z71v 3dMark 2003 (275/563) = 5120
z71v 3dMark 2005 (275/563) = 2018

As for lower res wide screen here are some more
1400x1050
1280x1024
1280x1024 is not widescreen.

1280x800 is 16:10 widescreen (what my panel does), and 1280x768 is 16:9 widescreen (what dvd's are in, and what some of the itty-bitty Fujitsu machines are).
i know that but on this laptop the lowest wide screen res is 1400x1050, 1280 is the next lowest but it is not widescreen
post #7 of 22
1400x1050 isn't widescreen...
he asked what availbe res r w/ the z71v and thus i told him
post #9 of 22
Well, you said 1400x1050 is the lower widescreen res, and it isn't, it is a normal 4:3 aspect ratio. However, if you turn off stretching, you can run 1400x1050 and just have a small black bar on each side.

The next one down it 1280x800, or 1280x768 like someone else said. I know my 20" dell panel runs those resolutions fine and they look good in HL2 (which supports them). Most games that have widescreen support do those resolutions in my experience.

ok to make my previous posts clear the only true widescreen res that the asus supports is 1680x1050
