My first query as a Sager owner. :)

Have a question regarding the CD ROM/DVD player.

I brought my lappy to work, so naturally I forgot to bring my manual. Sigh.. But anywho, I am trying to load Morrowind in my CD ROM drive and the hole on the CD ROM isn't large enough to fit over the spindle (or whatever it is) in my tray. Should it be like this or am I doing something horribly wrong?

I wanna load my games..waaaaaahh!

.. I just wasn't pushing down hard enough on the CDROM drive.

Just passin' thru,

Nope. CD-ROMs are like a specification.. when I frst got my sager cds were hard to press into the spindle, but eventually they got easier to put in.

also I noticed when I got my sager and the first time i booted it up it smelled like new silicon burning
thats gone away

if you get a radeon 9000 remember to plug in your old monitor in the back and run dual desktops!!!!

Yeah, laptop cdroms are like that to prevent skipping and data loss. Make sure you put a finger under it so you don't break the drive by pushin too hard :-)

Hehe...thanks for the words of encouragement, all.

Really, really like the laptop so far. Only minor (and this is very minor) thing I've noticed is the "click, click" a lot of the hard drive when it's in operation. But I seem to remember reading somewhere that there is a software fix for that. Doesn't seem to be very annoying right now, so I'll just leave it be.

I am amazed how quiet the thing is -- I expected noise similar to the Concorde lifting off or something -- but the fans really aren't that loud at all. And so far, it's running Morrowind like a champ.

Very pleased w/ it so far. Especially since I now know how to load a CDROM disk into the thing.

Joe C.

Edit: The monitor thing sounds nice, though maybe sometime down the line will add a full sized desktop keyboard. Anyone do this for their laptop? Not saying the Sager is bad or anything, just that for my style of typing, perhaps a desktop keyset would be less tiring. Just a thought.

i think

I think ill try that with the monitor myself...
