I re-did my Excel pricing matrix (XPS G2 versus 9880) and based on the same config, the 9880 is still $1100 more when compared to the recent 35% coupon deal from Dell. Otherwise without the coupon deal, the 9880 is an awesome deal with the current $500 rebate - cheaper than the $400, $500, 15% off deals which are the usual Dell suspects.
Also, go with PCT, they're a great mob.
Good luck with your choice...

As for the 9880 vs. XPS 2 debate...if you can snag one of the great deals that Dell seems to run quite often, I'd go with the XPS 2. If you put the money you save in the bank, you'll be able to use it, along with whatever you sell the XPS 2 for in a couple years towards upgrade to something which will be nicer than either the 9880 or the XPS 2.
For me heat and fan noise was a big issue...enough that I went with a 9300 instead of the XPS 2...that and I don't like glossy screens.
