Hey, im running off the CD with ubuntu 5.0.4 or whatever and in order to turn on the wireless, you need the function key. Well it doesnt work, so how can I turn it on?

Thanks!

Also, I happen to have Locked the computer, any idea what the password is when your running off the CD?

i'd assume the password for the live cd is root, i could be wrong. i am guessing by function key it asks you for a root password when you open the wifi prefs, type in root and you should be ok.

I ran kUbuntu Live CD last night.. recognized pretty much everything.. 1920 res, Wifi.. but for some wierd reason the Wifi was not picking up an IP address from the router.. wierd.. I put it to DHCP.. also the adapter kept getting disabled so Id have to go to Administrator mode and enable it.. The radio was on but in network settings something was goofy

Essentially I wanted to see if I could SURF THE INTERNET with it.. without having to install it to disk.. plain and simple..

Dont know why it wouldnt work afte it showed all APs and connected to the SSID AP for my router. I have no locking (MAC or Encryption)... so.. ?
