Oh $h^#.
I had it on (II) and didn't even notice it. It's much quieter now on the (I) setting. Obviously lower RPM's.

Another other great feature.......Two speed setting.

Thanks......Albsterama

Hmmh...if I run the fan in the "II" mode, theres a pop-up bubble saying that the USB device has "exceeded the power requirements" (something to that effect) on my I8200. However, it still runs but I was not going to push it...

Mind you this is a USB1.1 port.

Anyone here know the power specs difference between USB1.1 and USB2.0 ?

PS: The blue "neon" is pretty awesome and even on the "I" setting, there a nice gush of air underneath as per U.N.

I'm no expert. But what I think it's saying is that your device(the cooler) is asking for "X" amount of power and your 8200 USB 1.1 will only provide it "-X". Check to see if you get higher RPM output on the fans...when you plug it to the XPS2 vs. 8200 ...Both on (II) mode. I suspect you'll have lower RPM output out of the 8200 at (II) mode. I don't feel it's harming your system....or the fans....It would matter more if you were running an external USB 2.0 hard drive or media drive...

My 2cents.

Thanks U.N.

I should have been more clear, the bubble message actually says "Power Surge on hub port" and then the details spells it out. In the II mode, the fan does spin higher so it is drawing enough power. Perhaps it's something in the I8200 USB port design that is sensitive to the power drawn on the II setting at startup.

You know, a better design would be if they had a rotary switch instead of the I and II rocker switch.

I'll just leave it on the I mode, no big deal as there's a nice gush of air underneath. This I8200 is going to my wife anyway and she would not know I from II.....

I guess you have to have a USB 2.0 port to get passed that issue.
No problems on the XPS2 of course.

Anyone?

Normall I would say why bother as the cooling in the GEN 2 I suspect is sufficient by itself. But for $15 bucks including cool LED's - - I am thinking it is worth considering. Can someone post some before and after temps while gaming?
So does anyone know how this would compare to the Vantec Lapcool 2 as far as the amount of cooling each provides?

Anyone's welcome to chime in....
I can't do the review I'm wanting to yet.....because 85% of my things(digicam, printer, clothes, personals, ect..) are
now in boxes.....and I'm moving to the new place over the weekend. If no one passes any info...I surely will by the weekend.

Believe it or not after heavy gaming....my XPS Gen2 was very warm underneath....Not "hot" but very warm....Now with the cooler it's non existant.
