The notebook is good (I've got one). Check out smilepak's Asus Z71v support thread for all your Z71v needs.

i mostly was talking about the specs i am buying and the price for it. I have read all the reviews on it. Thats what i want to buy it so bad.

The cheapest place to buy a Z71v from is RJ Tech (www.rjtech.com).
For a bit more than RJ Tech (but only $10 more than geared2play), I'd recommend Discount Laptops (www.discountlaptops.com), which offers the Z71v under the name Chembook 2371v (Asus Z71v). They have a perfect reseller rating and have an option for accidental damage protection that none of the other resellers have for this sytem. I personally would not feel comfortable buying from geared2play due to their bad reputation around these forums, but that's just me. They did write the first review of the Z71v, so they're not all bad.

I Concurr with Robbie there!

They have a bad reputation? How so?

the usernames geared2play, geared, & g2p have all been banned, and the current username that the site's owner is posting under, p2g, has a negative reputation (red dot).

All companies have bad experiences with customers one way or other. There are many other sites out there which people will comment about them such as resellersrating.com or bizrate.com or forums in general.

Just because the place have a great streak does not mean you your self will get awesome service. It is all in good faith. Pretty much a hit and miss situation with people in my opinion.

where is teh best place to buy from. G2P is the cheapestr and i have priced all the sites. I want good tech support and resellerratings says eddie at G2P is very good.

Like I said, it's a personal preference. If you feel comfortable with them, go for it! Several users here (including myself) have had exemplary service from Rick at Integrated System Technologies (www.istnc.com/store), but they're more expensive, so go with what works best for you.

hows the rep of discountlaptops.com? How bout there tech support. They're only 10 more i would feel better for 10 bucks buying it from a more like company.

Perfect 10.0 at reseller ratings with over 200 ratings, Platinum Plus status, good rep here, have their own discussion forum (www.notebookdiscussions.com), only place to offer accidental damage protection for the Z71v, if they would have had the Z71v in when I ordered mine, I would have bought from them.

ive been configuring the same asus z71v for 2 days at a bunch of places, istnc seems the cheapest, why did you say it costs more?

istnc.com was 1849. G2P was 1795, Discountlaptops.com was 1805
and agearnotebooks was 2070.

the biggest difference was that i opted for the 2 yr warranty. +80 yetr on discountlaptops that is what u are given w/o any additional cost.
However they have a $75 discount for students.
