New 5680 on its way!!!

Well, just got confirmation that it shipped yesterday. Of course with my luck it would ship on a Thursday... paid for 2nd day air so now that becomes 4th day air since UPS doesn't deliver on Saturday. Oh well... at least it's on its way.

If anyone here has installed RH9 or Mandrake 9.1 on a 5680 your insights (or links to others insights) would be greatly appreciated.

It's gonna be a long weekend...

Same boat here.... Reminds me of waiting for christmas as a kid. But look at it this way, the weekend will seem to last longer!

mine shipped monday ups ground accross the country to virginia. if ups delivered on saturday, i'd get it tomorrow. however, i too have to wait the weekend for it to get here monday. oh, if monday would only come sooner.

Monday must be the day, coz my 5680 comes then too .. stupid UPS not delivering on Saturday! I can't wait!!!

i will probably order my on monday the 6th of october wire transfer at washington mutual at probably 10AM. My problem is I don't know if I should choose 2 day air ship or ground ship.

the reason is..if its 2 day air ship i choose..then lets assume...sager in CA ships to PC torque 2nd day on monday (same day i order). ti gets ther wednesday...and if PC torque ships it out the same day(wednesday) with my 2nd day air option, i would have it by friday of October 10. Now the problem is...there is a good chance sager might not ship the same day even though they do push out 300 laptops a day like PC torque says.

so i dunno. 2nd day air is $30 dollars extra and it would be a complete waste if it doesn't come in next friday, intead , it comes in monday.

but with ground, its 5 days to California (my house), and so if PC torque ships on wednesday, it comes here on wednesday of Oct. 15 the earliest.

so i don't know...

the only thing i'm configuring is just a simple 2.8ghz, 7200rpm 60.0gb and uxga and nothing extra else.... i don't know if this should slow down the procesing of my order...

I would think with that configuration it would go out pretty quickly. I ordered the following options..

2.8ghz P4
UXGA
1024 RAM
60GB 7200 RPM HDD
Second 60GB 7200 RPM HDD
802.11G Wireless
Bluetooth

I placed my order late Monday (around 5:30 EST) and it shipped out on Thursday.

okay great..that clears things up. i guess estimated time back to CA is around a week for me then...
