XPS Gen 1 boot-up problem

Hi. My Inspiron XPS (gen 1) will not boot-up. I press the power button, but the LCD shows nothing. I can hear the fans and the hard-drive running, and the LED's appear normal. After a few seconds, I hear 2 loud beeps, followed by faster fans.

I power down, power up, power down, and after several trials, I can get the LCD on. But, if I leave the system on standby and open the screen, the LCD is blank. Powering down will cause the same problem, i.e. blanks LCD screen.

Spec's: P4 3.4 EE, ATI mobility 9700, 1 gig memory, 60 gig 7200 rpm.

I recall tapping the "enter" key on the keyboard very very hard last week (due to some frustration for another reason), and the laptop froze in windows. I had to power down. Ever since that incident, this problem has been bugging me.

Well here are what the beep codes mean or should mean:

You could have loosened or jammed something inside which from the symptoms may be the video card.
