Replacing SO-DIMMs in 12" PB?

Today I took the step, and switched to Mac. My new 12" PB will arrive within a week (I hope).

I ordered it with 512MB of RAM (256 built-in and 256 in the extra slot). I want to expand this to 1.25GB. Since it was very expensive to get 1.25 from Apple I chose to do it myself. So, I've found a reasonably priced stick of Kingston 1GB PC3200 (400MHz).

Will this brand/speed work? I know some brands are incompatible with Apple. I also wonder if I will get into trouble using the PC3200, instead of PC2700 - as Apple says I must must use.
I guess that the stick of PC3200 will run at PC2700 speeds when I plug it into my new PB?

Many thanks in advance!

it would be better to just go with a gig of 2700 ram because that will usually be cheaper as it is slower. like you said the 3200 ram won't make a difference because it will run at 333 MHz anyways

The thing is, all the PC3200 stick I've found are cheaper than the PC2700 sticks

But as long as it works, I think Ill go with the faster (cheaper) memory.

whatever is cheaper then by all means go with it. Make sure to post pics and write a review of your PB too. I am in the market for a lappy and I'm still decing between an Asus or the 12" PB.
