IBM's restore partition, questions

Well my X40 gets here tomorrow but I plan on doing some tweaking to some important system files.

I heard you don't get restore CDs but a restore partition.

If at anytime I mess something up and I lock up on boot can I just use that restore partition to get it back to how it was when I first got it? Or is that restore partition have a totally different use?

It's as easy as holding down the blue "Access IBM" button when you reboot. The IBM Repair or Restore utility will come up and you can choose what you want to do. It's actually fun to watch it go through it's paces.
