Overheating

Thread Starter
I just recieved my new video card because my x800 was toasted for no reason. Well... I installed the 6800 go and cooler, and turned my machine on.
When it had loaded I ran the GetThermal program, and was stunned when my VGA showed: R: 112C,L: 96C.
I quickly turned it off and removed the card.

IT WAS LIKE THIS FROM THE MOMENT I TURNED IT ON. I HAVEN'T EVEN HAD THE DAMN THING TURNED ON FOR LIKE 3 WEEKS.

Anyone have same problem ??

Same here.

My X800 just died as well. Sager is telling me the card is on back order. I wonder how many people are having this problem? I was thinking of asking for the nVidia card but now, after your post, I'm not so sure.

Dang, my X800 also died last week (and also for no apparent reason) and I'm doing a cross-ship with Sager to have it replaced. But they didn't tell me it was on back order. Rats. Guess that's why they haven't notified me that the new one is on the way. Bad on Sager for not letting me know.

To be able to use the computer at least somewhat while I'm waiting for a new card I uninstalled the ATI drivers to effectivelyl disable the card. Though I can't do anything even remotely graphically-intensive I can at least surf the net and use Word, etc.

Hi - what bios/firmware are you running now and from where did you download?

Lets see what happens now...

Sager Emailed me two files, firmware and bios but i think i found them on their site under downloads or support, you create two boot disks and boot off them and flash that way.
