OT: your thoughts on PS3 and XB360 - Page 3

I'll stick to the PS3...I've been very happy with PSOne and PS2 and I'm kind of brand-loyal.
That's like the 2nd or 3rd mention of Killzone...are there screenshots out, yet? I thought the first one was ok...needed more variety in enemies but still a fun game...
Was watching the gang at G4 (I know...I know...) and they were asking if we'd actually see a big difference in graphics vs. some of the stuff still coming out on the Xbox and the PS2. I also wonder...some of the stuff I've seen for next gen hasn't really blown me away like it did when the PS2 came out. The price and the list of games will determine when I get one...

The killzone trailer is about 5 trailers in...
the Sony PS3 Game Trailers Clip.

You'll have to wait through 4-5 games clips before the one for Killzone shows.

Regarding the "incredible" Killzone2 clip, the graphics were pre-rendered. It was CGI. In fact the majority of PS3 clips were tech demos, not actual gameplay.

Prerendered gameplay normally doesn't have weapons clipping walls or people at a distance suddenly popping into view once they get within draw distance though. Generally they fix those things beforehand. It was a heavily scripted demo, but looking closely for any and all mistakes makes it hard to say it's real or not. It looked real to me with those errors.

They were CGI not in game footage like Sony wanted you to believe.

It was all set up by Sony. Sony was late with the dev kits. There was not nearly enuff time to pull off the KZ2 showing. I think Sony admitted it was prerendered but added that they expect the final version to look like the demo at E3.

My opinion I would buy PS3 as soon as it comes out because what Xbox 360 showed

on E3 is all about marhchendise on Xbox live!. They showed Velocity girl, maybe I am

not velocity girl or the other people they showed. They are concentrating a lot on

online games. I would preffer a console that is a Gaming console I wouldn't want to

buy a toaster that makes pasta and hot dogs etc. So that is why I would go with PS3.

In addition, Microsoft are trying to make Xbox 360 more of a Muilti system then a

simple gaming system that offers online play. It is basically a PC but in a smaller box.

As I said before this is my opinion some would agree and some would disagree but I

would like some one to argue some points .

E3 has been a real letdown this year. The showroom floor is dull...all the "demos" that we've already seen online are behind closed doors here....gotta wait in a 2 hour line to see that shit, and I dont know any developers that do that. Those lines are designed for fanboys and press people, so I'll just stick to the internet vids for now.

As for Sony being late with devkits, certain developers had devkits over a year ago for PS3. They were extremely rare, but they were out there. Sony showing pre-rendered stuff was a bit misleading, however, its about hype right now and Sony has built a lot more hype than MSFT with that press release.

Nintendo is the clear loser this year...their booth was nothing but DS titles that looked like they were for 12 years old (I have a DS). The revolution stuff they've announced is basically meaningless, and major 1st party nintendo developers dont have devkits yet nor even real final specs. Not a good sign....looks like nintendo didnt realize this was the announcement year. No biggie, but it was definitly the dullest booth.

The xbox booth was 95% xbox 1 with a fairly poor showing of a few xbox360 games that looked ok and didnt even run 60fps. Probably not final hardware, but still....only 6 months until release so thats kinda strange.
